Tirana’s City Hall has reconstructed the ballet school, which welcomed 230 new artists from all around the country for this year.
Tirana’s mayor inaugurated the works and brought attention to the miserable condition of the school before being reconstructed.
“What I have liked about the ballet school is that it has always had talented students, despite the difficult conditions.
“There is so much love in doing this job. But, of course infrastructure is needed. I remember the first day when we came here to see how we needed to intervene.
“It was raining heavily and water was flowing into the school” – declared the mayor, adding that the reconstruction of the ballet school is yet another promise kept.
The mayor announced that the city hall will not allow ambulant sellers to peddle their wares around the school.
“The market is a mere 50 meters away from the school. As long as the City Hall has provided a space where the sellers can offer their products, they can do this with dignity.
“Not in streets, not in schools. As long as they have another option, let them use the market for selling and let the schools be used for teaching” – concluded the mayor.
A festive concert was held at the ballet school and the mayor distributed some medals to the most talented students.
