The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati participated in an informal meeting of the European Union’s Foreign Ministers and Foreign Ministers of candidate countries held in Tallinn.
The ministers discussed several issues such as EU integration, radicalism, terrorism and the measures taken to prevent violent extremism.
Minister Bushati spoke about Albania’s achievements in preventing and fighting against violent extremism.
Mr. Bushati also spoke of Albania’s continuous support for the European Union’s policy to address security challenges.
Also, Mr. Bushati stressed the fact that an increased EU presence is needed in the Western Balkans in order to face common challenges and narrow the developmental gap between the Balkans and the rest of Europe, through the financial instruments of the enlargement process.
During his stay in Tallinn, Mr. Bushati also met with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
